Team1.co — Project and Team Management Platform

Team1.co is an organisational workspace built to reduce the fragmentation between planning work and discussing it. iEncode Tech designed the product around organisational work itself, projects, tasks, and the people responsible for them, rather than around a set of disconnected tool categories, so meetings, calls, and a digital whiteboard sit within the same product context as the tasks they relate to. A decision made in a meeting does not require a separate manual step to become a tracked task, and a whiteboard session stays connected to the project it served, giving teams one coherent workspace instead of a bundle of separate utilities.

Team1.co was designed around those relationships rather than presenting each tool as a separate destination that a user has to remember to visit and manually reconcile with the rest of their work.

Products that bundle many collaboration tools together risk feeling like a loose collection of features rather than one workspace. iEncode Tech addressed this by organising navigation and access around organisational work itself, projects and tasks, rather than around tool categories, and by keeping meetings, calls, and the digital whiteboard explicitly connected to the project and task context they relate to, so breadth of features did not come at the cost of coherence.

• React drives the frontend, giving the workspace a component-based interface that can present projects, tasks, meetings, and the whiteboard as connected views without duplicating logic across screens.
• Node.js and Express.js power the backend API layer, chosen for a non-blocking runtime well suited to a product where many small updates, task changes, chat messages, whiteboard strokes, happen concurrently across a team.
• MongoDB stores project, task, and organisational data in a flexible document model that adapts as modules like meetings, agendas, and whiteboards evolve independently of one another.
• WebSockets keep boards, tasks, and whiteboard sessions updated in real time, so a change made by one teammate appears for everyone else without a manual refresh.
• WebRTC powers the built-in audio and video calling, letting meetings happen inside the same workspace as the agenda and follow-up tasks they relate to, instead of routing users out to a separate conferencing tool.
• Google APIs provide authentication and usage analytics, while Firebase supports push notifications for meeting reminders and task activity.
• MailGun and an SMS gateway deliver time-sensitive alerts, such as meeting reminders and assignment notifications, through the channels teams actually check.
• AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, Route 53) hosts the application, handles background processing, stores whiteboard and file assets, and manages DNS for reliable, scalable delivery.
